22 April

Peninsular Day at Trinity URC, Hartley, Plymouth

Sessions led by Nicholas Wearne.

The topic of this year's Peninsula day is 700 years of British Music.   Nicholas will talk about some fascinating moments from before the earliest written sources to the present day.   He will then conclude our meeting with a recital, which will include some British works.

There will also be an opportunity for members to receive tips on their own performance of something from the past 700 years.

If you would like to play, well-known repertoire of the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries is as welcome as less-frequently encountered music, such as the liturgical pieces of John Redford or Thomas Preston (which can be found in the Faber Early Organ Series, Vol. 1).

The day will follow the usual pattern, with a morning session, an afternoon session, and a recital bringing the day to a conclusion.
